Imagination and Science: Which is More Important?

Nowadays it is increasingly difficult livelihood, either in work or daily activities. Particularly difficult for people (like me) really felt the impact of economic crisis in this country, for example in the employment sector increasingly difficult to find suitable work with the profession.

Had it occurred to me, if things like this now what's the point I was studying until high school, if in the end looking for work in accordance with the expertise it hard.

If at first glance such an understanding may be wrong, because the school is not to find a job but the most important is to gain knowledge, but for the poor and stupid (like me) are felt in vain if we have to pay expensive for the school but in the end the diploma a unused.

So what is the link between schools, imagination with science? Please you think about yourself, people of high education is not necessarily rich, but people who are good at imagining perhaps even more fortunate fate (just my stupid understanding.)
